Question

I believe that it is OK to jack up the rear of the car by placing a trolley jack under the diff and using it as a jacking point. Where can you place the jack at the front to do the same? Thanks for any info.

Raymond.

Put the jack under the two hoops that extend down, under the indicators.

These hoops are very strong and are used to tie the cars down on the boats.

Cool

...And remember to put the car on axle stands if you are going to be working under it, unless you want to risk giving flat eric some competition.

Pete,

Where would you recommend locating the axle stands (front and rear)?

What`s wrong with using the designated jacking points on the sills?

I`ve never had any problem here though i use a pad on the trolley jack so as not to scratch the paint.

Thanks, all. I am really trying to find out where I can place the jack to lift the whole front end at once so that both wheels can be removed at the same time. I have already used the jacking points with a rubber pad in the cradle of the jack but some underseal stuck to this and came off. If it is only possible to lift a corner at a time then I'll go with Pete's suggestion (and use my axle stands as well, of course
