Techno-fool question - is a de-cat centre the same as a straight-through centre, and would putting one of these on a standard MY00 turbo cause it to fail it's MOT?
*apologies for minor threadjack...

Carter - if you changed the centre section BUT retained the cat in the DP AND you got the car hot enough, then you MAY pass the MOT emissions test.
jamieerst - go for a H&S DP and centre and a TSL Firestorm rear box
I have this on my car and non of my neighbours complain

Carter, there are basically 3 types of centre section.
Resistance to flow increses down that list. People have different names for the different bits but basically straight through and non resonated are the same ie just a bit of pipe.
- A simple piece of pipe
- Pipe with a resonator chamber to keep noise down.
- Pipe with a catalytic convertor in it

Not sure, i had both done at the same time (TSL fitted it)Talk to Paul @ TSL. But if you do go down try and take the minimum amount of money you need, as you WILL come away with LOADS of bits, you will not be able to help yourself !!!

I had the Magnex Oval on mine originally along with resonated centre section, and now Twin Dump Downpipe
Scoobysport or Hayward & Scott (same zorts) probably about best for the noise you want, not 'too' loud

had a magnex exhaust for 2 years(dp,c/section + b/box 3.5" round).lovely sound,just right noise,could do with a bigger pipe though,even 4" looks a little small now.
i've sailed thru the emissions at MOT time,no cats and the car has been hot but not cooking,am i just being lucky coz people say you're pushing it just losing the centre cat?
