If you had an Impreza with 82K on the clock your going to be looking at the 90K service in the next 12 months. What gets done when having a 90K service and why does it cost so much. I guess with a belt change that ups the price a fair bit.

It is a 30, 000 mile service, which involves changing all the oils including transmission, plus all the filters etc. Then of course, is a timing belt change, as is due every 45,000, thus creating "double whammy" effect !

I had mine done fairly recently, at a main dealer, and they said to me, that it was effectively two services rolled into one - the cambelt change, and the normal service, hence the price.
Mine was £450 ish, which seemed ok for what it was....perhaps....

I have just had a 60k on my 96 wrx import by Scooby North in Wigan, they did a full service including all oils, fluids and a cam belt, they also fitted a new trackrod end plus some other bits and peices for £545, car is running really well now, well recommended!

Garages are rip merchants. Scoobs are easy to work on. Changing engine oil, filter, gearbox / rear diff oil, anti-freeze takes about 45mins tops. You should also not pay more than £100 labour to have the belt changed and only pay that much if you like / trust the garage. There really is no need to pay the high prices that a lot of garages charge.

I had my 90k service done about 6 months ago. I was quoted £300 or there bouts by ScoobyMania which I thought was well worth it. Needless to say I got mine done by one of the mechanics at the main dealer privately and it cost a lot less. Apparently the (genuine) parts are about £100 in total so the rest is labour. Mine is a Sport so it might be slightly different.
