Probably cam or crank sensor, had a similar problem with mine, it was fine from cold but would play up when restarting with a warm engine. I replaced the cam sensor and its been fine since

Got mine from gradea-subaru.co.uk cost £25 and its a 2 minute job to replace. The cam sensor is mounted above the right hand upper cam (as you face the engine bay).It has a connector on it and is held in by one bolt.

The one on the right is the cam sensor, thats the one I replaced on my car (95 wrx import), did the trick for me. Other threads on this forum dealing with a similar problem also suggest replacing the crank sensor. A self test should indicate which sensor is at fault.

circled, right is cam sensor and crank is the left sensor.

Cleaning them can solve the problem for a short time.. they are magnetic and slowly get less sensitive etc..

Just undo the 10mm bolt and disconnect plug and lift to remove..
Don't tighten to hard as they are plastic on the edge where the bolt goes to isolate them from the block.

Error codes only logged when they are a long way out of tolerance or totally dead..
