I just had tints put on windows of my MY03 STI and my radio has stopped picking up MW radio ... FM ok but weak. Leads me to think interfrerence with rear window radio antenna. Guy who fitted it said no metallic stuff in rear tint exactly because of interference issues (metallic additive on other windows).

I'll ask dealer to check it out, but it seems odd.

Any ideas ?

money says that they've disconnected something and forgot to put it back on, or broken a contact.

The aerial is at the top of the screen with a separate connector on it that goes into an amplifier in the roof liner. You need to check that the amp still has in, out and power connected.

i just unclipped rear window quarter panel and all the wires look connected ok and untouched.

maybe the amp has blown and it's just a coincidence ?

 

My money is on them running around the edge of the window with a Stanley knife, trimming it off, and cutting through the circuit on the glass.

You can buy a paint that repairs the circuit.

 

Yep Halfords sell that paint, used it on an old mini rear window years ago, now that takes me back...
