What options are available for my 95 Jap Import WRX ECU. Car has a MINES currently fitted but due to the det/knock that my engine has suffered (hence blown engine) I need to safe-guard the car once the engines re-built. I obviously have never thought I'd need to change the ECU set-up on the car so I'm well in the dark as to the possibilities. Anyone got advice ?

ScoobyECU is you best option, the mines chip will be running too lean and to much advance if it's anything like any of the other Jap Maps I've seen.

Not good for UK fuel.

Do a search for ScoobyECU, then mail me once you've read the details.

I currently have stock of suitable blank chips, and can provide you a remap, dependant on what ECU you have.

I currently have only 5 left in stock, as have sent 5 off this week already.

Thx Scott, whats the cost of things like this ?

MINES ECU had speed de-restricted without the need for the speedo cable convertor, can this still be done ?

Car has full de-cat, HKS Super Power Flow induction running on Optimax fuel. Possible re-bore & engine rebuild coming very soon due to dead engine, don't know what else you'd need, but I'm away 2 search like u said above. Thx

I'm all ears Scott, sounds like my MINES unit but safer.

It was set to 100RON, boost peaks around 1.1bar, 1.0 most time, no Dawes device, no FCD fitted.

I was told to uprate my fuel pump & fit a fuel regulator too, don't know if this helps you. I'll remove the ECU & open it up to check the slot and what is fitted to it. I tried to view the website but it wasn't working. Mail me at derek@sidc.co.uk

It will have a chip in the spare socket, as I saw a mines Z4 earlier this week.

Will also be having a look at the map in the Mines chip once I've sent the owner my Z4 variant.

For those without mines...I can turn around an ECU in 1 day.
You post to me 'special delivery' I recieve the next day. I will then modify the ECU and post back the following day 'special delivery'.

Question

So whats required Scot ?

My cars off the road just now anyway due to the engine re-build so can send ECU away if you want to attempt to re-map it.

Does the map you do also over-ride the speed restrictor ?

If it's a mines it will already have the chip socket fitted.
Open it up and in the bottom right there will probably be a chip with a label on it, something like this....

This is a Zero Sports ECU.

You just pull the chip out if it's socketed (it maybe soldered, or maybe an adaptor similar to a ScoobyECU board) and plug in my Z4 Variant.

I thought the ECU I saw earlier this week was a Mines, but it was infact this Zero Sports.

If you want to send me the Mines chip I can read it and let you know what it's like. I can then add it to my list of Jap Maps which so far have all been a bit Hit & Miss.
