Ive seen a few places here advertise this, and I am wondering...what are they talking about??

There are a couple of people here, who claim they can re-program any car via their laptop, via the diagnostic port on the car.
YES, that claim is any fuel injected car. One exapmle a person told me about was that he asked if he could get his 1993 Supra Turbo reprogrammed, and the guy said no problem.

Now, I have the tendancy to think they are full if ****, but as I really dont know that much about thses things, I'll ask here.

What they hell are they talking about?? They must be taking money of some people, although I dont actually know of anyone who has beeen to them and had anything done.

I don't know about any car but i know that if they have the software that can communicate with that cars ECU and they have a remap, they can just flash the new map onto the ECU. This is what ecutek offer. This is using a laptop via a cable to the ECU.

However to be able to do any car they would have to have tons of maps and lots of different software for each cars ECU.... So its definitely possible, but would do more research if ur thinking about using them .... :>

Dont worry, I have no intentions of using them, I was just curious. If someone is going to blow my engine up trying to tune it, its sure as hell gona be me

And I while I dont know much about electronics, I would have thought most ecus, were ROM, and could not be easily re-programmed without going inside the ecu. Certainly older cars anyway
