Not to sure on the buying side of things - try a search on the Snet shop.
Fitting is easy enough (if you can do basic machanics) as it involves removing a bolt and replacing it with the knocklink sensor and a longer bolt.
Some people fit them without removing the intercooler but we (helped my mate fit his) removed it and made the job simple.
You then fit the display in the cabin and wire it to the sensor and a live source.
The display is a small unit the size of one of your air vents with lights on. As more lights come on the more damage you could be doing (start green, then orange finally red for danger)all you do is back off the loud pedal and the lights drop back down.
Its purley a way of warning you that you are getting det in the engine, this usually happens on imports, as they are mapped to run on 100 ron fuel and 98 is the highest available ron in the uk.
Hope this makes sense.
Chris
Edited to say its not limited to imports -it can also happen on UK cars.

Just to add there is a nicer gauge style version coming onto the market in the near future. Bound to be a bit dearer but if your not in a rush may well be worth waiting for. The one thats available now isnt one of the sexiest bits of kit, big understatement!

Got mine from Jap Innovations. Number is 0161 6520920. When it comes to the sensor, don't pay the £65 some suppliers want. Mail me and i'll send you the part number, then order it from a Bosch dealer for about £35 instead.
Another thing, the Knock Link ain't pretty, but it fits perfectly in the drivers dash vent and looks the nuts there!
