Anyway I can tell if the Knock Sensor is not working
I dont get any lights lighting up at all, cept the faint green one, to say there is power, and on the very very rare occasion the 1st green light will come on full when I start the engine
It is set to maximum sensitivity, and Ive tried tapping it and the block and still not a single light up
Wires seem all ok,
Car is UK MY00, Full Decat, Dawes set to 16.5 PSI, STi5 Intercooler, Samco Hoses, always run on Optimax
The reason I ask is that my Delta Dash Logs show upto -3 degrees knock correction on WOT every once in a while
Cheers
Steve
PS I have also tried mounting the sensor on the bracket, and directly to the block with the bracket on top, made no difference
the sensor is mounted in the normal place under the intercooler, in the hole where this bracket normally bolts too, next to the set of numbers on the block

LOL John, I did that last week two or three times trying a Dyno Run on DD in 3rd gear, on my private driveway
Knock Link didnt light up, and its a shame in a way that when doing a Dyno Run on DD, it doesnt Log at the same time
I'll check bakc through my DD logs and see what revs I did get up to, and what was happening with the KC at that point

Just had a quick look through the DD logs, and it seems fairly consistent
Upto -3 deg knock correction in 3rd gear around the 4.5-5k rpm range, and just before a gear change, then a little more knock correction in 4th about the same revs
Thats why Im thinking my Knock Sensor is dead, as I get no lights at all

I checked mine a few week back by tapping it with something metallic and i didnt get any LED's flashing so i took the sensor off. I then tapped it again with something else (socket rench extension) and it lit up fine. Put the sensor back on and tapped it with extension again and it was fine. Checked the wiring out and that was also fine.

Ok
I have now fixed the faulty sensor
Basically the contacts where corroded up, so I cleaned em off, now a light tap lights it up like an xmas tree
I imagine this has possibly come about through my rigorous engine cleaning
anyone else who engine cleans, and has a knock sensor they think isnt working, then give the old contacts a good clean, works a treat now
Cheers for the help
