Are Pace FMIC any good? I know you get an uprated rad with it but i have been told pace intercoolers have a tendancy to warp

White Scooby - How much was your Greddy FMIC and where did you get it?

Is it hard pipes or silicon pipes?

Been told a pace drops straight in and with the others such as a hks you have to butcher your front bumper and it weakens the car

You don't cut anything structural, and you allow room for a larger volume of core.

If the bit that you cut away from the bumper for the APS has any structural value at all I would be very surprised.

I`m confused now.

Some websites say a PACE has the largest volume intercooler and it goes in with out and modifications to the bumper. Yet other websites say hks, blitz, greddy etc have a larger area

The Greddy kit was £900 + vat full kit complete with hard pipes. Good fit but i did have to lose the fog lights but these should go back in once i space them off the bumper a fraction. Got it from Hyper Sports and Racing. www.hypersr.com or 0845 2250111 ask for chris he did the fitting for me.

I've got the HKS Fmic too, very happy with it.

I would also advise looking at the Apexi fmic, that has one of the strongest cores.

Prob imo with the HKS is the core itself is very soft, much like a std TMIC core, you have to mesh it to protect it otherwise it would get caned very quickly.

The APS is a good FMIC very strong too.

Damn missed it

TBMeech - interesting stuff about the HKS FMIC. I thought HKS FMIC was meant to be the strongest core.

Better go and do some more reading

Frank,

No mate, the HKS core is really good for airflow but the fins are made of chocolate, I do not believe they are much stronger than std tmic fins, you can push them in, hence why it should be meshed up, i'll take a pic of mine later and post it up.

The APS / Apexi FMIC's have superbly strong fins and don't need meshing at all.
