just a standard engine rebuild u know, take the ****** to peices and clean it all out, whatever they do,replcae things, theres gotta be some wear and tear in a engine with 100+k even if its running sweet...
i had one done on my old golf gti at 170k,it cost 500 quid

i'm just wondering how much its gonna cost to do the same on a uk impreza...
i'm thinking of when i come to sell it,its gonna be hard selling a car with 140k on it,a little easier with a recon engine at 140k

Fair question I thought. You know, the usual, bearings, crank regrind, rings, gaskets etc. Dont understand why your getting unhelpful replies mate. Rebuilt my old Land Rover once having never done a rebuild before. Thouroughly enjoyed it. The sense of achievement when you first fire it up is great. Probably end up doing the same to my WRX one day. Deserves a proper answer I reckon.

well i recon if he has an engine that has managed 100k its a goodun just leave it my leggy has 90k on the clock and it has definately been clocked and its still going strong.

why rebuild an engine that is fine?

ok its cheaper to rebuild one thats not been killed probably but its unlikely to be that cheap.

you will be bored in 6 months so buy a spare and go mental on that one then if your own is still good you can sell it

Thought your reply read a little sarcastically. Sorry if I was wrong.

100k miles isn't much. Mine is at 120k and still getting a good thrashing. Change the oil often if you're worried, and make sure it doesn't detonate when under load.
