I recently fitted a Forge vta dump valve to my Classic and have noticed that it sometimes 'pops' or 'farts' between gear changes. Especially between 2nd and 3rd under heavy acceleration. Is this normal???

My understanding is (and I wait to be corrected) that the MAF senses a certain amount of air going into the engine and the ECU squirts in the right amount of fuel. When the DV dumps some of the air escapes so for a second the engine runs rich and some of the fuel doesn't get burnt, goes through, hits the exhaust and goes pop!
