Question

I know there's one on the post99 Scoobs, but I've not seen one on the pre97s. Do they have one that I've not found?

Would it be worth while making one while I'm doing some house plumbing and I've got a nice pipe bender & spare copper tube to hand?

I've not had my power steering fluid boil yet, but after a long run, the steering does feel a bit heavier (but that could be me being tired?) and we are supposed to be having a heatwave!!

Hi, new one on me, i did'nt know they fittd them to any Impreza's, but i may be wrong. I know Lancia fitted coolers to the power stering system on the Integrale evo cars to homologate them for rallying, when the works teams had some over-heating of the systems on the long safari rally stages etc, but i think it was looked at as overkill on the road cars, but that was homolation rules at the time. I am ready to be proved wrong on the subaru's , though,
cheers, Mark

Well, when I say "cooler" I use it in the loosest sense - there's a decent size loop of tube in front of the radiator that is connected to the PAS system... I'm guessing that it's there to cool it down, as I can't see any other possible use!

dnb it is indeed a cooler. The best stuff to use is heat exchange pipe which has vanes on it, 2p sized discs around the pipe. It goes in line, cooling the fluid before it returns from the rack to the pump reservoir.

well I had a problem with powersteering fluid..

Make sure you fit it to the return pipe..

rally cars cool the ps fluid with the water in the headertank..

stevie turbo suggested a toyota twin cam cooler.. looked good.
