I have a MY97 with induction kit and I can assure you that the "scraping sound" kinda like Darth Vader is quite normal.

Add to that a loud dump valve, I have darth vader sneezing every time a let off the loud pedal

Don't panic

just a word of warning, I have heard that a induction kit on the bug eye is a bad idea, think it was Pete from scoobysport mentioned it, could cause the engine to run lean... but what do I know

An induction kit will cause it to run leanER but IIRC they are set up running a little rich anyway.

cheers lads, seems 2 be running fine tho. just put 600 miles on her this weekend and can't complain.

Is is it true that hotter air is not as gud as cooler air into the induction kit, if so what measure are ther to shield the induction kit.
Thanx 4 the help

Advantages Inductionkit-versus-OEM:

-More spool-up sound.
-Blow-off sound.

Dis-advantages Inductionkit-versus-OEM.

-More fine dust(silica)getting in to your engine
-Power-loss due to hot air-intake.

No offence to the owners, but lot's of testing here even with 300+BHPcar's showed no increase of power whatsoever with all other types of filters when compared with the OEM-one.(Considdering it is being replaced on time)

So the choise is very easy ins't it?
