Inductions Kits
#2
If you do a search on induction kits you will find a lot of info.
Some people have a lot of problems with the MAF braking after fittment, were as others have no problems.
Different year models have different MAF sensors. I think the older cars weren't as fragile as some of the later ones.
I had an ITG panel filter in a MY96 UK Turbo which I have had replaced with the normal filter and don't notice any difference.
I seem to remember the K&N 57i kit as being not to bad at eating MAF sensors.
Personally I don't get on with induction kits, but I'm sure others on here will think they are great.
Cheers.
Ian.

I have a MY97 Wagon and I have the Blitz induction kit...it consists of a metal mesh type cone and has not got the wax, oil on other induction kits....has been fine on my car. Sounds quiet at cruising but aggressive when pushed excellent buy.

2 weeks ago I picked up a K&N brand new from larkspeed for 59 quid for my MY98, thought that was pretty good, had to pay 7 quid postage though.

When I went to buy an induction kit for my01 I was advised not to because of the amount of heat generated by the scooby engine causing the indution kit to suck in more hot air than cold .
He advised me to buy a replacement filter instead .
Has anyone else heard this ?

You dont want to put an APS induction kit on a non mapped car , they lean the fuel mixture as much as 20% which could lead to early engine detonation, this is well documented.
K&N 57i is reputably the safest one for non maf issues, i've had two of these over the years and had no problem.
Blitz sus get mixed reports, tho i've blown a maf to bits using one of these so wouldnt use one again personally.
