Urgent (today) engine swap advice needed - PLEASE

Can any one give me advice.
I've got a 94 WRX and have just put a 95 WRX Type R Engine in. I'm running a Power FC ECU I heard the engine running in the donor vehicle.
The engines in and it won't run. When cranking over it seems to spark once and that's it.
I've checked the wiring loom and the only difference is two wires that go to the 5th Injector which are not connected to anything on the car side of the loom connecters.
There is fuel going into the engine etc.
Can anybody give me advice as I've only got the workshop for the rest of today

I've checked the functioning of both these sensors and have swapped the ones from my old engine too.
I know there is something about swapping them somewhere but I haven't managed to find any full information anywhere on the net (so far)

Hey bud.
1st thing that comes to mind is "are the injectors the same cc?"
I`m almost certain the type R had larger injectors :/
If so u may have flooded it
If not check that the TPS signals are the same for both. I stuck am sti4 in my 94wrx last year an had monsta probs with 2 main things :
1. the coolant temp sensor was fubar, causing the ecu to constantly batter the fuel in, ending up flooding the engine![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
2. the TPS wiring was different (new one only uses 3 lines old one used 4).
Hope this helps m8, good luck
Pete

The Throttle Position Sensor is the same (4-wires)
Still working on it though. I'll be able to contact some people in the morning, and the workshop will still be mine tomorrow![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Thanks for the advice, will be investigating the injectors next.

On the injectors the std early WRX 1s are grey (380cc) the later ones are yellow (440cc) just a visual check should suffice ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
If u have a default map with the ECU i`d be tempted to reload that as well so you know where u r starting from (after checking the coolant temperature sensor is ok).
BTW I take it you have checked all the earth straps etc ???

Thanks again for the advice.
I have reset the ECU for the standard map. I've also done the diagnostics for the car, and it says everything is ok.
I'm assuming that the water temperaturs sensor is fine as the ECU gives me a reading of 27 deg. for the temperature and the fans aren't coming on, so it seems that the sensors are working as they should.
The earth straps are good too. To add to that I've got an earth kit, just to enhance the earthing.
I'm haven't got the type r ecu, which I hope to pick up today. That's the only other thing I haven't tried.
I've had all sorts of electronic meters on it. Swapped wires here there and everywhere, compared the looms about 20 times etc.
I'll let you know how I get on with the ECU.

Hold on a minute..
There is no 95 Type R, iirc 97 was when they started production of the version 3 Type R.
I suspect you have a Type RA engine, especially as it has a 5th inj and 4 wires for the TPS, All type R's have 3 wire TPS's.
Rob
If you have a timing light, remove cylinder one coil pack... get a plug lead and push it onto the spark plug and then push the other end into the coil pack, connect the TL to the plug lead. Get someone to turn the car over whilst you check that you have a consistant spark, can you check the fuel pressure?
