octatane booster please help

Question

i have a 2001 import wrx been runing it on normal unleaded
for last 8 weeks prox 2000 miles car is aprox 280 bhp i have not been useing any octane booster. do i need to use it and will i have done any damage will i notice any difrence in power

if this is a japanese market WRX then you should be running super unleaded/optimax only!!!! otherwise you are going to end up with metal jigsaw under your bonnet!!

What Andy maybe meant to say is that you should be running it on SUL/Optimax plus octane booster only.

Normal unleaded is a complete no-no, unless you only drive your car like your grandma...

Well, your engine hasn't gone kaboom, so from that point of view it's not too late.

As for what to do now, start by using proper fuel (i.e. Optimax or SUL plus octane booster), preferably fit a KnockLink, and maybe consider having your car remapped for UK fuel.
