panel filter and straight thru exhaust (full de cat) maybe going on car.
No remap as yet.
what gains are possible, 10%, 5%, 1&?
will the car need setting up as far as timing is concerned or will it be ok just fitting the parts.
Thanks in advance.
Andy...........

Xtreme, cheers for the reply
not degassing unit, staying well away and saving the extra for a dealer unit...
thining of doing the exhaust filter trick to gain a few ponies, but want to be reasonably sociable with the neighbours and get MOT no worries,
So was thinking, ITG for better breathing, DP and BB, to keep center cat, or center and BB to keep front cat, was gonna leave the remap til end of year (again saving) and then jump in with a ECUTEK 3.
gradual power increase also means that Ill (hopefully) fully appreciate the gains from each mod as opposed to doing the lot in one hit.
just my thoughts...

Hi Andy
The MIRA filter test came up with the following:
The difference between the lines at the start is tiny (normal daily air pressure changes by up to 600 in this scale), but as they are loaded up with dust, some perform much better than others. When the line goes vertical, the filter is clogged and stopping airflow. ITG performs the best in this test, but there is a (very, very small) risk of it damaging the MAF, if not installed correctly. For this reason, we supply Green panel filters. The extra power from a good filter is very small on a standard car and only rises to 3-5bhp on a "hotship". The important thing is that the filter is providing a good stable flow of clean filtered air.
As for the exhaust parts, a full system will add around 25-30bhp, depending on the car spec. Spool up from the TD04 on UK cars is better than the big turbo on imports, but even this is improved by about 500rpm. With a full exhaust, power on a UK rises to between 245 and 250bhp, which then rises to 285 with the remap.
Many people do the work in stages and whilst each gain is quite small, the combined effect is a big grin

Typically depending on exhaust system for a classic
d/p upto 15 bhp and brings turbo in 500-800 rpm sooner
c/s upto 8 bhp
b/b removes baffles and upto 15 bhp
Panel Filter negligible, though does improve air flow and cleansing of the air (Pete had some figures though I can't find the thread but I'm sure he'll post (smiley face here Pete maybe; I'll give it a go )
Favourites of the moment seem to be green cotton filter an article in this months Japanese Performance extols the virtues by TSL and of course the old favourite ITG
No need for remap or anything like that the car will self learn within 100 miles.
