hi there,

My car is booked in on Monday for its 20k service. I guess this should be straight forward.

I have asked them to look at the following concerns:

3rd gear, doesn't seem to pull very well, boost seems very hit and miss. Other gears ok.

Brakes. Seems you need to really push hard on the pedal to reduce speed.

Steering. Turning left is fine, but turning right is much heavier. Steering wheel is also not straight.

electric mirrors. Have stopped working.

Hopefully, these issues will be addressed.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks nellie,

I had the body service done 3 months ago as that was when the 1st year was up on the car. Had the PPP done at the same time so the dealer discounted the body service to £60.

What's your tyre wear like?...sounds like a geometry problem...could be as simple as uneven toe on front wheels

The tyre wear is very even.

In fact, I can't see much tyre wear at all (must be the way I poodle around town :-) )

I'll post again on Monday evening with an update..

Update:

Has my 20k service done. Was charged a very reasonable £141.45 for the service, £10 for the oil filter and £25 for the labour (all plus vat). Had a very nice brand new Forester on loan for the whole day whilst it was being done.

I'm glad to report that the steering wheel is now straight.

Brake pedal feels better (they bled the brakes)

Jury is still out on the steering issue. (I haven't had many bends to go round)

Power: Feels good so far.
