As the title says, I have my nes boost gauge plumbed in, but am looking for the best place to wire up the lamp inside it. I have seen the ash tray light mentioned, but how do you gain access to this? does the whole of the centre console need to be removed? or is there an easier way/place?

Thanks for any help.

If they gauge is being mounted on the a-pillar you could tap off the illumination wire for the fog light switch or you could just use the cigarette lighter. AFAIK you would need to remove the centre console trim to gain good access.

I took mine from the fog light switch. IIRC the purple wires are there to illuminate the switch (double check with a multimeter) and splice them to take the feed for the gauge lighting.

I've used the Hazard light switch as its the most out of the way imo.

IIRC the official subaru boost gauge suggests using the purple wire from the fog lamp switch, as Andy says.
