Angry

Hitting 4000rpm in 4th gear and the car gets a flat spot. This doesn't happen every time, but more often then not.
Also under medium to wide open throttle, the run from 80-100 (for overtaking on my own private road ) I get vibration through the accelerator and the acceleration takes a wee while longer.
Oh, and lastly, lumpy on tickover. (cabin shakes).

Any suggestions as local dealer can't fault the car but it's driving me nuts.

Question

Electrical? Plugs? Plug leads? Coil (packs)?

"Sounds" like a misfire.

Sorry chaps, it was late and too much Vino.
MY99 RB5.

I thought maybe a misfire would be more severe, not just in the one gear at one certain rpm.
I'm reluctant to fork out for a MAF sensor if that's not the prob although I'd rather get one than have the engine let go.
Problem only started after a cambelt service, although dealership did drive the car 'Hard' to determine whether it had been chipped.
It had....the now infamous 'superchip' which comes out next week.

Ok, a main dealer today suggested problem may be the boost solenoid. Sounds reasonable to me. What do you experts think?
Car's in tomorrow for checkover.

Lumpy tickover points to MAF - not sure how much the boost solenoid is doing at -0.7 bar
