I"ve just bought a STi 1(my94)import.The garage has just called to say it failer it's SVA due to high emmissions. They said that the lambada sensor? was fulty and with it replaced all should be well.I"m a scooby newbie and was wondering whether I"ve bought a crap motor or if my complete lack of knowlege is my problem.
PS what is/how does it work/relate to my SVA failure?
PLEASE HELP.........

LOL

I think your car has been doing too much dancing on the boat over.

Its a Lambda sensor, the is the sensor that controls your mixture by measuring the oxigen content in the exhaust gasses, its quite common for these to fail so dont worry about it. Get a new sensor installed and it should pass the emisions OK as long as your Cats are OK.
