Question

It seems every oil thread suggests using 15w50.

My question is.....
If you are driving in Scotland in Winter, is the oil just as suitable as when you are driving in Surrey in Summer ??

The same oil that is, ie 15w50.
Surely, as ambient temp is either high (or low), then different viscosities are better ??

Just done a search on Mobil 1 in NZ.
Was very impressed, as you search on the application (marine, auto etc), the car make, and specific model all down to the nth degree.
The final recommendation for a WRX was ....
" Lubricant recommendation dependent on vehicle useage. Refer to Dealer "
Mmmm, useful. Also thought the standard vehicle usage was "moderate/major hard/fast driving"

Mmmm.
