A lot of people swear by Castrol Syntrax for Gearbox and rear diff, I use it and it's good, makes the gearbox feel smoother (my 'box suffers from poor selection normally, I'm saving for a rebuild)

For engine oil, the turbo's tend to like either Mobil 1 or Castrol RS (amongst others) but whether the Sport needs such a high spec oil is debateable, a semi-synth is probably good enough, unless you drive it very hard.

BadlyMan, for someone with as many posts as you it semms that you do not actually spend much time reading the pages in the first place, and far too much time in the muppets. I think you'll find that my above comment was not mean't to extract the michael, but infact be more helpful then you can imagine.

Most peeps would read your thread and go, "oh, no, not another guy asking about engine oil. Why doesn't he do a search, afterall, thats what it is there for..."

Here is the url of one of the first hits you get when doing a search on engine oil.... http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadID=169402

I would appreciate it if you could remove your above comment about my "moronic" ramblings before a mod gets hold of you....

I think the sport has exaclty the same engine as the turbo. 2lt, flat 4.... i would use exactly the same oil as for the turbo.

I have found Elf HTX 802 or Synthese 5W-40 (cheaper) to give the best dyno results
