Question

Hi all, sorry that this is ANOTHER Lambda Link thread:
Does anyone know if the pin out diagrams as supplied by BRD, and in some threads on here are shown from the ECU side of the connector, or the WIRE-OUT side?
I'm embarrassed to bother Bob or Branko again today, but the wire which is supposed to be live on mine, won't light up a circuit tester.
Thanks in advance,
Alcazar

Could it be that you will only get a signal once the sensor is heated up...???

Unhappy

Cheers again Dan.
The problem seems to be that pin 1 is supposed to be switched live, but won't make my circuit tester light up. I've found a switched live elsewhere, so that may be solved.
What IS bugging me is that the diagram I have of the pin-outs from my ECU, as supplied by BRD, can be read in two ways: does it show the connector from the rear, ie:where the wires come out, or from the front, ie: where it push-fits onto the ECU?
I think I want B136 pin 5, but what colour will it be??????
A very confused Alcazar

Question

There was a change between 97 and 98 cars. The diagram I have refers to 98, but gives B136, pin 5 for oxygen sensor. Trouble is WHICH IS pin 5??????
And what COLOUR wire????

alcazar,

I think most of the diagrams are viewed so your looking at the connector from the back (where the wires go into the block) as its plugged in.

I think the o2 sensor signal wire is normally white with silver rings around it, it could be different on an MY98 car.

Oh, and make sure you get a real good look at the connector because when i was fiting mine i counted along the wires and got the wrong one because the first position on the connector didnt have a wire in it, it was blank.

Had same problem - MY98 - it is pin 5 on the bottom connector (top row counted from right) - but it's blue !
I initially went for the white & silver one as in all other ecus but that was the speed sensor - weird readings.
Also I had another panic & went thru whole process again until I realised that u don't get a signal until it's warmed up a bit - 30 secs maybe.
But u l live & learn - could probably do whole thing in under 5 mins now.
Easiest place for red & black is behind stereo - ciggy lighter or similar.

Question

Is it ok to use a Scotch connector thing, or is it best to solder the wires to the AFR?

Was planning to take the +ve & gnd from the ECU connections, I assume this is also ok?
