Exclamation

Ok, I decided to move the power steering resvoir after reading havey's post, as the extra room would be most beneficial for me.
But after setting it all up, the pump is making a terrible noise and the steering is strugling to work with power steering.

I located the resvoir in the place the aircon unit would normaly go. And connected betweeen the pump and the reservoir using braided hose and M12 Banjo connections.

Is there anyway air could be trapped in the system causing this? Any way of bleeding it? The other thing im wondering about is if the Banjo connections are not free flowing enough?

Most gratefull if anyone who has done this conversion could help.

Thanks

Been messing a little more, the noise from the pump has gone now on tick over and when you rev the engine. But the steering has got no power steering. Checked to see if there is a return flow back to the reservoir and that seems to be flowing OK so I gues the pump is still running but why no power steering??

Deffo air in the system mate!!
To bleed teh system..
(ignition off)
Repeatedly turn your steering lock to lock, make sure the level in your relocated Res is topped up and that it is above the pump level.
You will get fluid out of the pump until it runs empty..

Rob

p.s. pump will sound like a bad of **** with no Lube

Managed to sort it thanks, kept trying to bleed the system with no luck! Scraped the Banjo couplings and used a bigger bore hose, solved the problem, 99% OK now!
