will an after market dump valve shorten engine life?

I have a MY01 WRX standard apart from a decat centre and tsl back box-would love the extra whoosing between gear changes-but will any like the forge etc dump vlaves that makes this noise do any long term damage to my engine as i dont want it to knacker up in X,000's of miles-as i mite still own car then and which one do people like the best for sound effects and i seen 1 person on here who reckons it helps to get the flame effect is this rite?

I have a forge vta and like the whooshing noise
. In answer to your question though, yes it can damage your engine if you have a vta as the car can overfuel and you can have idling problems. If you do a search you will het some more info. Hope this helps
