I have My00, ppp, itg, group A down pipe, and custom decat middle,

to day while driving to town, i heard a rattlw from the turbo area,
thought that it was just a heat sheild or something, so carried on and went to overtake, droped it down a gear and the car boosted like hell, it was so fast, and then it dyed of boost on it own,,,,?

as if there was a vacum pipe fell of or something,i have checked all the pipes and every thing looks ok,

but now i have this sort of rattle it seems to be underneath the car where the middle fits onto the down pipe area, but it is not blowing,

also the boost still seems alot higer than it should be but wont hold much, at a guess it seems like is boosting at about 17/18psi and holding at about 13/14psi, and the whistle we get from our turbo on boost is alot louder aswell,???????

the rattle noise is loudest when i take foot of throttle, and in the gearchanges, oh had some pinking as well,

and the fuel consumption has gone more terrible than terrible

Is there much noise from the turbo itself when the car is idling, or more noise when the car is switched off than normal?

I would try to reset the ECU and see if you are still having problems.

The boost problem would likely to be a boost hose split.

there is this rattle noise from the turbo area on idle and when you shut of the thottle, realy does sound like a vibration problem,
but for it to appear all of a sudden and to have boost problems i think there is more to it.

but it seem louder when stood outside the car next to the drivers door with bonnet closed, i have took the turbo heat sheld but did not solve it,

now removed heatsheld from turbo and up pipe and the rattle seems to have gone,

BUt there still seems to be more boost than before, the whistle we get when boost is on is alot louder than it was before????
also when off boost i think i can here a sucking sound coming from somewhere but cant tell were,

 

Make sure none of the vacumn pipes have splits in them, they may be attatched but leaking slightly.

sounds like the wastegate stuck closed producing all the pressure, then broke off so no pressure now. Hence the rattling, the actuator arm rattling around.

Am I just drunk?!?!?!

dont think it is a waste gate problem now as the rattle has gone, but does seen to have more boost, so will look at the vac pipes and see if there is a split in any of them,
