Stoopid question about Intercooler Water Spray

I know this bloke with an STi5 RA, he's had it 3 months just noticed that if he presses the IC Waterspray Auto button it lights orange....
Does this mean is on when the button's lit orange?
If anyone knows please post and I'll tell him, he would post but said he feels a bit of a t1t for not knowing

Oops, that'll be why when he checked the water level in the tank it was still full to the top

Yeah, lit is on.
With some of the better systems they wont spray until you are running at a pre determined boost level as well

I used to do around 5 laps of Donnington then come in for a refill. Doesn't last long. There is a warning light on the dash that tells you when its empty, I'm guessing your friend hasn't seen that either

How do you find out if it is working on Automatic (i know mine works in manual mode!)?

Can you upgrade a Manual version on an earlier car to an automatic one ???
