Bttt

Someone must know whether engine flush would cause new oil to blacken.

Was my 15k service but they told me they would do a 22k service as i hadn't done an oil change for a year and only done 6k since last service, so i agreed.

They said it would cost in region of £500 so i said for that money i would rather supply mine plugs, oil and brake fluid (as they were going to fit some braided hoses for me aswell).

They said this would bring down the cost abit.

Anyway as part of this service they would change the diff oil but since i only changed to castrol syntrax 2 months ago i told them not to do it.

Went to collect my car and on the bill was REPLACED DIFF OIL
Asked whats going on as i had said not to do this and they said they had made a mistake on the bill and removed it(not sure whether they realized this after changing it and just removed it from the bill for arguements sake).

They also charged for thing like screen wash even though i had filled it up myself just days earlier.

So with all this in mind i paid £300 odd and took the car, yesterday was the first chance i had to have a good look at car and discovered above.
Black oil and chips on manifold.

Will ring them later today and see what they have to say for themselves.

Quick update , i have spoken with the dealer in question and they will inspect the car tomorrow morning.

Hope they dont try and fob me off with some old stories.

Angry

Hi guys need to ask a bit of a stupid question.

I took my car in for a service last week and supplied them with the oil to replace (Castrol RS 10/60).

They said they had done an engine flush aswell but on inspection yesterday i pulled out the dipstick and the oil was quite black.

Now if they had changed the oil (and did an engine flush) wouldn't the oil had been quite clear.

Not sure whether to ring up and complain and ask them to carry out another oil change with the same oil i supplied them to their cost.

To top it off they managed to chip the paint on my STI inlet manifold on changing the plugs.

Mods feel free to move this if in wrong section.

One very annoyed customer.
