Drive to garage..

Warm engine..

remove sump plug.. do not drop into hot oil... drain oil into large container..

remove oil filter.. (either use surgeons glove to grip tightly, stab / skewer with a screwdriver and turn or use a oil filter removal tool)

Fill new oil filter with oil, and smear some around rubber washer seal thing.. screw on... dont cross thread it..

re-Fit sump plug with new crush washer from subaru.

Fill engine with correct amount of oil..

Remove crank or cam position sensor and crank until pressure is gained.

reconnect.. start drive.. enjoy..

Ps oil goes in the oil cap under the bonnet on the left.. the dipstick is also there..

And as you have the bonnet open, check your gearbox oil level... infact scrap that Idea.. knowing what youve just had done..

Ring me if you get stuck.

Christian - you really going to do it.

There will be a Projects forum, dont think that "Changing the oil" would be a project as such.

When it is created Would you mind creating a thread re the conversion of your car, together with pictures etc.

David yours will be in it ASAP

Sorry for off topic.

David, why do you need to "Remove crank or cam position sensor and crank until pressure is gained."? What happens if you don't do this prior to starting the car?

Lightbulb

The idea is to get the oil pressure up before the engine fires. Removing the sensor lead will stop it firing. Filling the filter with oil before fitting it makes the pressure come up quicker.
