Thumbs down

Getting slightly miffed with my car at the moment! Whenever i try and start it its a lottery as to whether it will start or not!
Turn the key it fires up reaches 1-1.5 revs then cuts out. Even when revved on starting up to 3000revs it still cuts out. Then it will turn over and not fire. Leave for a few seconds and then it fires up as if nothing is wrong. This happens at any time of the day rain or shine and it is now starting to Pee me off!!!

Any ideas as to what this could be?!!!

Your advice is greatly appreciated

Could be dodgy coil packs.

Should be coved by warranty if your car is still in it.

Not a straight forward job as you might think you might be better off contacting your dealer for expert opinion.

if its that new, then take it back! leave it with them for the morning & hope it does it !
they should (& i'd argue if they didnt!) fix anything like that! (if it still has warrenty !!)
coil pack is hardly a consumable / wearable item !!

Crank or Cam sensor?

Could be a coil I suppose as the newer ones have two??

On the older car if you get one coil pack fail it still usually runs.. well if there is enough spark to start it then it runs on three, is lumpy as hell and smells of petrol.. not that mine was like for a while or anything

But as said if it is that new take it back!!

Again thanks for the replies.

Have noticed that if I leave for a while until the immobiliser light turns off the car will start after doing the normal start procedures with ignition on, turn immobiliser off, continue as normal process and yet the problem does notseem to be the immobiliser. If it is this coil thing what exactly does it do?

Cheers Pudge
