Odd request, but does anyone have any idea of an adhesive / solder that will stick together die cast ali.
The piccie below shows an engine similar to that in my model car - wait for it, 3.5cc and 2.1 bhp!
The arrow at the back points to the exhaust manifold / spout - on my engine it is on the side as opposed to the back.
Following an argument with the kerb, the bulk of the spout has now broken off but with a reasonably clean break - any suggestions?
thanks in advance,
Mike.

cant think of anything personally.
there are some hard plastic welds available but I donit think they work as adhesives, more as fillers.
Can it not be properly welded?
and btw, dont believe for a minute that these engines really are 2.1hp.
I had nitro engines for years, and I am still convinced its all hype.
You should ditch the nitro 21 engines, and get yourself a fifth scale with a 25cc strimmer engine. Much lower reviing, much mroe torque, much less temperamental, and start instantly. But then they have a spark plug instead of a poxy glow plug.

Find someone with a dillon torch. Low heat and extremely low pressure so you shouldn't warp it or blow through anywhere. Needs to be a weld as a resin / epoxy / glue won't handle the heat.

Yeah no way 2.1 bhp, the 25cc engines don't even have that. I've had R/C helis for years and they have bigger engines than the cars, and they aren't 2.1 bhp. Use High temparature Araldite.

Use some Technoweld
Too hot for glue, too small and fine to tig (IMHO).
Technoweld is a blowtorch job, a fine pencil torch would be best.

hunlimo,
I want one.
url? how much?
used to have an fg models ecoline and am now missing it.
btw. the 25cc engines can make much more than 2.1 hp, the heli engines are low tuned 30 or 60 and meant to run faultlessly,
the 21 engine cars are somewhat higher tuned.
had my engine in my fg making way more than 4bhp, gas flowed and ported etc.
was cool, had hydraulic brakes, lightened flywheel etc. was cool.

4.2hp to be more precise. With the long gearirng its capable of doing 120+ km/h. Keep in mind that this model is 15 kgs. Ill check what time it does 0-100km/h in. My guess is 3.5 secs.
