Having starting probs every now and then always when cold soloniod clicks but thats it, if I hold the key in the start position for several seconds it usually turns over and starts although this morning it took several times and about 15 mins.
Called Gatwick Subaru they quoted £380 and thats if I fit it!!!!
Any ideas, it might not be the starter, buy the way MY97.

Talking

Call Mike Rivet at Rivett auto's on 01306 628009 (tell him I sent you) He's in Oakwood hill (just off the A29/A281)

He's a Subaru specialist, might even have a starter laying around
Though it sounds like it could just be the battery!!!

You could try and get a second hand one.

Good place up here called Glenburgie Subaru (www.glenburgie-subaru.co.uk 01343 850349) that breaks Impreza's. Very reasonable prices - his prices start from £95 for a starter motor - and he would post it down to you, though not sure how much that would cost.

Not connected in any way, though I've been impressed after he has has helped me out at short notice a couple of times.

colin, sure its not just battery? i had same last week new batt cured it.is your alarm difficult to arm/disarm sometimes, this can happen when battery is low, when i turned the key starter clicked and alarm kept going off.a few cold mornings will soon kill a faulty batt.

I have a new battery, it is like there is a bad connection because it will either not turn over at all or spin at full speed and start no problem...........
Was wandering about immobilizer though..............
