Could a gubbed boost solenoid cause the boost to go too high (to the point of fuel cut)?

I'm getting a stutter which i now think may be fuel cut when the boost peaks. The car has no mods except a backbox. Only reason i'm thinking the solenoid might be the cause is cuz it's been clicking constantly for the last 3 months.

Mine was caused by the diag/reset connectors being left hooked up. There was this thread about something similar a few days ago. Also try a search on "boost solenoid", I came across loads of stuff when i was looking to try and find out why mine was doing it.

k.. i'm gonna try hooking the actuator straight up to the nipple on the turbo to take the boost solenoid out of the equation.

I'm hoping to trade the car in on Saturday so i need to try and get rid of the stutter and keep the boost down to hide the slipping clutch. I guess this should do the job? What do i need to do with the pipes that come from the solenoid? Do these need blocked up?
