What do I need to hear more THROB?
#1
The standard exhaust on my STi3 is too quiet. I dropped a friend off home earlier and he stood at his front door whilst I floored it up the road. He later text me to say:
"not very loud. Bit of a roar. First thing I thought of. What no rumble!"
I want mine to sound like the others!!!
I realise there's a few options but whats the cheapest 1st stage into releasing some more THROB/RUMBLE?

They cost loads!! As much as I'd love one the misses/neighbours would frown on it.
Would'nt a down pipe half sort it?
Remember, "cheapest option"!
Those Nur-spec Rs are about 5-600 squid aint they?

The biggest difference in overall noise is going to be the backbox IMHO. A noisy backbox (such as the Blitz) will give you burble with an OEM system, much more than an OEM backbox with a new downpipe. Most backboxes will release a fair bit of the "throb".
A new downpipe will however make more difference to performance than the backbox, generally.

Indeed the Blitz backbox would be enough soundwise. For some extra power, the R version (with middle section) is recommended.
As susual the prices described here are rip off prices, the Blitz Nur Spec R costs 50000yen in Japan, that equals 270 GBP, whereas in the UK, only the backbox costs about 330 GBP...
I think ordering the Nur Spec R from Taka Kaira with shipping costs wil be cheaper than only buying the backbox in the UK...but then again I don't know if Taka Kaira offer them for the usual price in Japan

+ shipping costs, tax etc etc fun & games but depends how much rumble u want best bet is go & listen 2 a few fellow owners at a meet or sumin & decide wot floats yer boat. I fell in luv with blitz & now have the noisy centre & back box, can give u neighbours telephone number if u wana reference as they moan even when i screw silencer in but it is handy 4 long journeys obscene hours etc
Tiz all good anyhow m8 standard twin pipe = no flat four boxer burble at all & so exhaust has 2 b 1 of 1st on mod list Tell the misses it's a safety device so people can hear u kumin she woodn't want u endangering yerself surely
