Oxygen sensor-manufacturer or universal part ?
#1
My MY98 requires a replacement oxygen sensor.
The local motor factor can supply a 'universal' sensor for £18+vat.
A well known Subaru specialst can supply a Subaru sensor for £95+vat.
Are there any dangers in going universal or does everyone buy model specific?
Opinions appreciated.
Thanks
Brian

find your local bosche supplier they should be able to find the right one and it should be with correct connectors etc. as a guid we pay about £40 + vat for a 4 wire unit for something like a rover
universals are pains as you have to ensure the connections are perfect or else the slightest extra resistence can screw things up
i've gone to only fitting bosche or original units as theextra cost of the bosche ones is more than out weighed by the savings on the labour cost of fitting a universal and joining wires etc. less profit for me but the lack of problems makes the loss worthwhile
