Bloomin Wipers? (help?)

Now it's started raining again, my wipers have decided to start playing up!! 
All i've got is the fast wipe and mist (if you hold it on, or it just stops dead. were it's at) No intermitent, no lo
This could cause some real problems with winter on it's way. Help!
I've done a few simple checks (no blown fuses) and will probabily have the steering column apart later, any ideas. (Car's a my95wrx)
