I've got a Snooper SD7** (can't remember). Not only do they consistantly pick out Gatsos, lasers and stuff, they also consistantly pick out shopping malls. traffic lights and petrol stations..

Same as Katana, but I do think its worth that little bit of ag

Also it has saved me once when 'blasting' down some lanes, the radar det went off, I slowed down to be met with a queue of traffic at some temporary traffic lights hew:

If you *can* afford the 'better' one, go for it, but for the money the SD815 Snooper is ok

I've got a Snooper S5 and as yet it hasn't picked up one laser. Either I'm extremely lucky or the thing dosen't work.

Apart from parking under a Mway bridge does anyone know if there is a way you can test these things. Works fine with Gatso.

Lesmess , hows it for false alarms etc , thinking of getting one as long as it doesn't keep chirping away everytime I pass a petrol station or something!

Try COSTCO for a Snooper. They had them on offer for £140 but have now reverted to £176. Still £55 cheaper than I found on line for an SD815iS.

Bell 550 picks out petrol stations, but that's about it. Nothing else seems to worry it.
And the petrol station thing doesn't really annoy - it's a little muddling when it's under a bridge you're going over & can't see it, though

only sell "snooper" so cant comment on others use '815' myself on regular basis and picks up most things inc. new hand-held "mini" gatso (these are still the only euro compliant on the market i.e. they are frequency band specific)
think the reason most people think others are "better" is that because they were designed for yank market the frequency is not quite right and hence they dont have as much feedback as others!

common problem and pet hate though, is interference from mobile phone radio masts - they go bezerk!!!!!!!
alyn - as performance

oh and forgot to add, at this moment in time they are FULLY LEGAL!!
