Question

If I have installed an HKS EVC within the standard set up of my 95' WRX Turbo (Jap Import) will I be doing any harm to the engine or will I have to replace other parts of the engine so it can take the pressure...

I am not that technical minded, I drove my friends MR2 who had an EVC in it and when it is switched on, it makes a BIG difference.

Please advise

Thanks in advance

correct me if i'm wrong, evc is a just a boost controller.

depends on how much u want to increase boost by, small increase (0.1-0.3)should be ok on std car but if you want to increase boost more, better make sure other variables such as fueling, air flow, etc is upgraded.

i'm quite sure people on this bbs will help.

What boost does the standard car produce ?

Going up a wee bit shouldnt hurt too much, but you will probably find the 'fuel cut' if you over do it

If the car produces 0.8 or 0.9, you could try 1.0...no warranty though

Good luck.

Edit to say...make sure you use the highest octane fuel available to you, even octane boosters
