Thats like saying why do vauxhall and ford use Garrett turbos
Apart from Mitsubishi being a part of FHI as is Subaru its probably down to the fact that they could supply this turbo cheaply for the quantity needed (and that its also very reliable )
Mass marketing for you

No, No, No.
Subaru is a trademark owned by Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI).
FHI is owned by: General Motors, The Mitsubishi Trust and Banking Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation among others.
I don't think it has something to do with the supply of the turbo units.

Personally I prefer it from KKK, Garret etc turbochargers as it is reliable and MADE IN JAPAN!
The same for most of other Subaru parts - they are Hitachi made which is very good IMVHO (look at your differentials, clutches etc).
In my last car - Nissan Almera GT - the first and only problem I had was with my windscreen wipers and guess... they were Bosch.
I think our MAF sensors (only the inside sensor) is Bosch made!
Probably is why they tend to fail.
