How hot does your intercooler get??

If you cruise a lot, it shouldn't get hot. If you do a lot of sitting in traffic then jumping from lights, it will!
Be happy it doesn't get hot... if the car's running fine, there's nothing wrong with it.

The cooler the air the better. The actual temp depends on where you measure it but the closer to the throttle body the more meaningful the reading. With a top mount I found that in the cruise the temp was typically ambient +12 cent. In traffic it would rise into the 40s and with hard work on hills, spiritted driving, lots of boost, WOT etc temps vary up to mid 50s on track and trying hard.
With my FMIC and other mods I now enjoy amb +1 or +2cent in the cruise and WOT perhaps+6 or 8 cent.

How Stupid, Doh!!
The intercoolers function is to cool the presurised air on its way into the engine. Thats why all the fins are coldish. This Turbo engine malarky is getting clearer every day. Or am I kidding myself ?

All top mounts which had air temp measured at the recent RR meet were hitting the 80's- 90's due to insufficient cooling.
Wasn't down to having a hole in it, but certainly gave you problems which were rectified with the temporary change in intercooler.
Good result you achieved BTW considering the results of others.
