Series McRAE n-reg, its only peaking and holding at 9psi, should this be nearer 12psi???

I think the standard car pulls something like 12-13.5 psi

Hi m8,

Bog standard, should be around the 11psi mark (some are a bit higer, others lower), but I know yours in modded, so 9 is very low.

Try flushing out your boost solenoid and clean out or better renew the boost pipework. Mine did this (same MY as yours) and it was a dirty solenoid.

cheers, should the boost differ depending what gear you are accelerating in?? I thought boost would be constant whatever gear?

Hi,

Boost is load dependent so peak boost is only really achievable in 4th/5th gears (WideOpenThrottle). Mine is set to 15psi usind a Dawes device, but as standard before I cleaned the boost solenoid it was 11psi. After cleaning it went up to 13psi
