Improved/Quicker steering for MY01+
#1
Is there any way of stiffening up the steering on a MY01 and also reducing the ratio on the rack to decrease turns lock to lock?
I find it a little over light and I wouldn't mind cutting out the amount of twirling I need to do on the twisties (I know it will mean I'll need to correct the steering more while driving, don't mind that)

Two options;
Hope that helps.

- Change the wheels for ones with a lower ET (certain well known specialist recommend ET +48 for improved steering feel.
- Find/Buy an New Age STi Steering rack - these have a higher ratio.
Hope that helps.

You could try replacing the steering wheel with a 330mm item. Won't reduce amount of turns lock to lock but will put a bit of weight in the steering and will give the effect of reducing the amount of twirling you have to do by virtue of the fact that the diameter has reduced. And it will cost a bit less than a new rack.
