Different performance with each tank of fuel
#1
I have noticed a definite difference in performance with each tank of fuel. I only use 2 stations as they are the only convenient ones with 97octane.
Is this normal?
Is the quality of fuel that varying?
My last tank was particulary **** but this one seems to be very good????

Yes they can vary but I'd say it's more related to weather conditions and purely coincidental.
I may of course be very wrong

The quality of fuel "delivered" shouldn't vary, it's the tanks it goes into that varies. Especially with all this rain, they get water in them and hence you get water in your fuel (not much, but enough that it can make a difference). The best bet is to use a garage with a high turnover, such as a supermarket or motorway services (if you can afford it), these suffer far less than the little country petrol station which only gets a new tankerload every 3 months !.
It happened to me a couple of times at a local BP station, the car ran really crap until I filled up else where , the station has now been clossed (fractured tanks)..

Bummer on that then. Both stations are tiny so I would guess the turnover isn't the best. I'll watch for the next couple of weeks and see if I can pin down which of the 2 it is.
