Question

Happening more often now, MY99 misses on pick up, its due for its 4 year service in 2 months, should I get it looked at earlier? Initial thoughts are spark plugs but haven’t check them because they don’t look that easy to get to!

Any thoughts?

Cheers Chris

Have you check the coil packs?

Not sure MY99 has coil packs like the earlier ones but could just be plugs too...

IIRC the MY99 has coil packs, but only two of them. It runs 'wasted spark' which means the coil packs fire twice per revolution, which means they wear out twice as quickly

Question

Not been to hot on engines, I do know that MY99 was one of the last to be built and it actually has the newer '00 engine. Only found this out when I had the cam belt done as the mechanic had the older shorter cam belt in and had to go off and get a longer (new type)one for the service. If it does have coil packs where are they and how do I check them for wear?

Cheers
