hmm, i can understand that then, but mines only two weeks old!

I can only presume its sticking on something, as when you unscrew it it moves back into place, though everything looks fine inside, no burrs or anything.

Send it back?

Good as the Dawes is the failure mode is not a safe one, hence being very important to still have a fuel cut.

When the Dawes stuck open, it was allowing full pressure to the wastegate as it was made by the turbo, and as such the car was only boosting to 0.7bar, instaed of the 1.5 bar i normally run at, so the fuel cut wasnt an issue thankfully

Fit an oil catch tank, to prevent oily crud gumming things up. Fit a second Dawes on the "boost" hose, as a fail safe.

Mark.

John , you do have a point i spose

Thanks for the replies guys, i`ll refit it tomorrow and give it alittle spray with PTFE, hopefully that might stop it jamming up in the future

mine done it on track few months back.

thinking about it, it is the racing one as well? hmmmm could not get more than 0.8-0.9bar, never stopped me though from having fun and overtaking poeple

i just took it apart and stretched the spring a bit. so lets see if there is a trend developing here.

it happened to me ( 1.45bar) andyF (1.7bar) and yourself (1.5bar)

maybe the dawes does not like highboost. it could be an oil catch issue, i think it is the spring though.
