Been away for a few days, left wife driving the Scooby.
Went to drop it back a few feet this morning to allow room for son to work on his bike, and discovered an oil patch!! Aaaaaargh
There seems to be oil all over the underside of the engine. It's off to a friendly garagiste at 3pm, as there isn't a scooby dealer within 35 miles.
Someone tell me this is NOT going to be expensive? Please? Pretty please??

Might just be the rocker gasket, cheap to do DIY and shouln't cost the earth in a garage.
Cheers.

I had a similar problem recently which turned out to be the front crank oil seal.

There is a front one and a back one.

If it is that then it is expensive.. shop around..

if it is the front one then the cambelt needs changing too, if it is the back one then the clutch needs to come out.

I managed to get it done (front seal) for £305 including the new cambelt.

You could be lucky and find it is a pipe.

What year and mileage?

If you are really lucky it could be the oil filter has backed off
slightly.

My oil filter came loose as well. Dumped over three litres on the road over a 25 mile journey. Looks like this problem is more common than just an isolated case.
