Dash Removal
#1
I need to replace the bulb in the oil warning light on the dash. I am assuming that the only way to do this is to remove the dash in order to get behind it ? Has anyone done this and are there any difficulties to be aware of ? The car is a 1998 Forester T/tb but I believe the dash is the same as the Inprezza.
Thanks

erm.. it sort of means both.. I have had the trim off around them on mine when repairing some damage when I bought it (stolen rec.) and fairly sure the clocks would come out the front...

Above the dials there are two screws that fix up into the cowl (?) and appear to hold the plastic surround in place. Do you mean that if these are removed then I can get access to behind the dials panel?

Yes I have done that a number of times and it is easy. Some models the speedo cluster is a very tight squeeze past the steering wheel and two little bits on the top of the cluster will dent or even slice into the dash a little.
