Impreza GC8 Intake Manifold Help?
Hi All,
I have an engine with V4 STI heads and a V7 STI block which I would like to install in a V5/6 Turbo 2000 MY99.
I thought it would be a straight swap until I was told the Inlet Manifold won’t fit from my GC8.
Can someone offer me a solution as to how I can install this engine with the least bit of work whilst keeping the engine in its current form with its V4 heads?
Many Thanks

it requires both inlet manifold adaptors AND the inlet manifold "cut 'n' shut" as they are totally different lengths as well as ports shape fitting.......
far easier (and probably more cost effective) to simply fit the correct 99/00 heads and then sell on your V4 ones.......

Thanks for your reply.
What if I use the V4 Intake Manifold, what will be required then?
which injectors, wiring would I need as would they be from different phases?
thanks again

Can I bolt on the V5 throttle body and ignition V5 coil pack onto the V4 manifold?
If so can I blank off the IACV valve on the V4 manifold and use the one on the throttle body?
Thanks

you can do anything if you have a programmable ECU and happy to run a custom loom
but no chance to run it on anything factory / why the desire to keep the 'wrong' heads??

Hi,
I don’t think I’ll need to rewire anything as it’s using my original parts from a V5. Connectors will just fit in.
not sure about the fuel rail and coil pack though, can I use my current V5 coil pack in a V4?
I just found a V4 manifold with a blocked off IACV hole and revised screw holes to allow for V5+ throttle bodies.
I want to keep my V4 heads because it’s recently been built with a V7 block and has aggressive cams allowing high rpm.
